Hélène Dautry, initially focused on piano training, later directed her curiosity towards the cello, with which she quickly developed an exceptional career. After five years of study, she was admitted to the CNSM de Paris in the class of Maurice Gendron. Under Gendron’s guidance for cello and Jean Hubeau for chamber music, she earned a brilliant first prize in cello and continued her studies in the third cycle of chamber music perfection at the same institution under Jean Mouillière.
As a laureate of the International Academy Maurice Ravel, she has been invited to perform under the baton of Jean-Pierre Wallez, Frédéric Chaslin, Patrick Fournillier, Peter Csaba, among others. As the solo cellist of the Jean-François Paillard Chamber Orchestra for over twelve years, she has performed as a soloist with this ensemble in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Additionally, for about a decade, she served as a soloist in the Besançon Orchestra under the direction of Peter Csaba. She has been a member of the Geister Trio and the Trio Léonore, sharing the stage with numerous artists such as Catherine Collard, Edson Elias, Jean-Claude Vanden Eyden, and others, participating in renowned festivals worldwide.
Since 2012, she has been a regular guest at the Cello Arte festival alongside Bruno Rigutto, Sergio Lamberto, Geneviève Teulières-Sommer, Pierre-Henri Xuereb, Giacomo Fuga, among others. Alongside her concert activities, she is actively involved in pedagogy. Holding the CA (Certificat d’Aptitude), Hélène Dautry teaches at the CRR de Paris, the Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne, the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, and the Royal College Of Music in London.
Recognized as one of the most significant personalities of her generation, Hélène Dautry is passionate about music transmission and sharing.
