Description

Cellist Frédéric Audibert has given concerts and Masterclasses in major European countries as well as in Taiwan, Canada, Russia, Congo, Israel, Polynesia, Japan, Greece, Malaysia, Colombia… A First Prize winner of the CNSM of Paris, he was named a laureate of the Live Music Now foundation by Yehudi Menuhin, who encouraged him to pursue a solo career. Since then, he has performed the major concertos of the repertoire (Haydn, Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Shostakovich, Lalo, Elgar, Honegger, Brahms, Beethoven, Bruch…), and on period instruments the concertos of Vivaldi, Boccherini, Porpora, C.P.E. Bach, and L. Leo, notably at the Grand Theater in Naples. As the principal cellist of the “Chambre Philharmonique-Emmanuel Krivine” and the international orchestra of the Dresden Music Festival, he has performed at the Alt Oper Frankfurt, the Concertgebouw in Bruges, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Semperoper Dresden, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Istanbul Hall, the Beethovenhalle Bonn, Cadogan Hall in London, the Staatsoper Munich, the Teatro Mayor de Bogota, etc. Frédéric Audibert was raised to the rank of Knight in the Order of Cultural Merit by Prince Albert II of Monaco. He plays the cello of Maud Tortelier, an Alessandro Gagliano from 1720.
