Recently invited by prestigious orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev or the National Orchestra of Bordeaux-Aquitaine under the direction of Paul Daniel, pianist Jean-Baptiste Fonlupt regularly performs at major festivals in France and in many countries such as Italy, Belgium, Germany, the United States, or South Korea. Renowned venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Auditorium de Bordeaux, the Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, as well as numerous venues in China, the Salamanca Hall in Japan, the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, and the Simon Bolivar Concert Hall in Caracas have had the pleasure of hosting him.
His discography covers a wide range of composers, from Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach to Franz Liszt, including recordings dedicated to Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann. More recently, an album dedicated to ballet music featuring works by Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and Ravel has also been released. His recordings have received top awards in French and foreign music magazines, including a Diapason d’Or for the “Ballets” album, and are regularly broadcasted on the airwaves.
Trained by Bruno Rigutto at the CNSMD de Paris, Michael Endres at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin, and Elisso Virssaladze at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, he now shares his expertise by teaching at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison at professional levels and at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur, Belgium.
