Description
Vincent Lucas began studying the flute at the age of 8 at the conservatory in Clermont-Ferrand.
In 1981, he was the first named entrant to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).
In 1984, he won the international radio competition of the city of Prague (Concertino Praga).
He was a flutist for 5 years with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse starting in 1984. Then, he was the second flutist and solo piccolo with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra starting in 1989 for 6 years.
Since 1994, he has been appointed the principal flute solo of the Orchestre de Paris. He is a member of the Wind Quintet of the soloists of the Orchestre de Paris.
In parallel, he is regularly called upon by different orchestras for replacements.
His time in these various orchestras has allowed him to play in concert halls known for their prestige: Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Royal Albert Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall are just a few examples.
Vincent Lucas also has a career as a chamber musician.
