Musician Rémi Jousselme is engaged in a wide range of artistic projects. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with numerous other instrumentalists or ensembles (orchestras, quartets, vocal ensembles, etc.), as well as with popular or classical singers, dancers, and actors. Born in Marseille in 1977, Rémi Jousselme has won first prizes in several international competitions in France and abroad, including the prestigious “Printemps de la Guitare” in Belgium, which awarded a French guitarist for the first and only time. On this occasion, he recorded an album ranging from romantic repertoire to contemporary creations. His second album, ‘Brasiliana’, a panorama of Brazilian music ranging from popular to avant-garde, was released in 2005 by Altaïs Music. A live DVD in Seoul was published in 2009, and his latest album ‘Exils’, dedicated to composers Toru Takemitsu and Atanas Ourkouzounov, was released in November 2016 on the Spanish label Contrastes Records, in tribute to Toru Takemitsu on the 20th anniversary of his death. Highly active in the field of contemporary music, he has collaborated with prominent musicians and ensembles in the current scene (Musicatreize, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Gauthier Capuçon, Quatuor Bela, etc.) and performed at international festivals in Paris, Seville, San Jose (Costa Rica), Daegu, Daejon (South Korea), Avignon “In” (France), Musica in Strasbourg (France), Folle Journée de Tokyo (Japan), at the International House of Music in Moscow, Novel Hall in Taipei, Tiara Koto Hall in Tokyo, and collaborated with leading composers Zad Moultaka, Bruno Mantovani, Philippe Leroux, Felix Ibarrondo, and Jean-Pierre Drouet. He is also a member of the ensemble Musica Nigella and the Collectif Quest. Mr. Jousselme is a professor at the Conservatoire de Tours and teaches Didactics at the Pôle Supérieur de Lille (ESMD). He performs as a soloist or chamber musician in Europe, Russia, and Asia, playing a Vicente Carrillo guitar and Savarez strings.
